It seems that there are an overwhelming number of choices out there to eliminate your debts. There's debt consolidation, debt management services, credit counseling services, along with many others. With all of these different programs out there, what is your best choice?

Your best bet is to follow a system that totally eliminates your debt. Now understand that debt consolidation is not the same as debt elimination. Studies have proven that many people end up in worse shape financially when they consolidate their loans than those who don't. Why do you think this is true? When people consolidate their loans they borrow money to pay off their credit cards.

After they have a zero balance on their cards, many people start charging them up again. What happens? They end up in worse shape than before! This is what debt consolidation companies know and it's also what keeps them in business.

The best option for most people is to eliminate, not consolidate, their debt. There are many ways to eliminate debt; however, the first step is to avoid creating more of it. In other words, stop charging on your credit cards. Next, it's important to come up with a little extra money to get rid of your current debts. Finally, you need to apply that extra money towards eliminating your debts.

Whenever you start to pay off your bills, the key is to focus on one at a time until it's completely destroyed! I don't necessarily recommend that you start with the bill that has the highest interest rate. It's usually better to start paying off the one with the lowest balance.

In my debt free classes, several of my past students have had success paying off the debt with the lowest balance first. Why? Because they can see a much quicker reward for their effort. The main thing is to get started today before another credit card bill arrives in the mail.
