Debt Free and Prosperous Living - The Real Deal or Just a Scam?

Many articles and books have been written about living a debt free lifestyle and then becoming prosperous by building wealth. Is there any truth to it or is it all just a scam?

I can tell you from personal experience that it works. It really works. My wife and I managed to pay off over $10,000 in car payments in under 2 years using this approach on our modest teaching salary. Once we had paid off the car payments, my wife was able to stay home with our newborn daughter in 2000. She has been a stay at home mom ever since and is currently taking care of our youngest son. This has been all possible due to a decision we made early on to never have a car payment again. Yes, we have bought a new car since 2000, and we still have no car payments.

This is one major benefit of a debt elimination strategy. You might can actually afford to lose one income and still do well. If you currently dislike your job or want to start your own business, then decide on becoming debt free.

Think about this. Imagine if you didn't have a car payment, credit card payments, or a mortgage payment that you were chained to forever. How much extra money would you have every month? Becoming debt free actually gives gives you more choices in life. Maybe you don't have to keep your stressful job anymore and can try something new that you really want to do. When you're debt free, you can take more chances. You don't have to worry about bill collectors coming after you because you've missed another payment. So debt free living is more than just a way to become wealthy. It's also a way to lead a less stressful life!
